Award 35: P(rotest) A(action) T(esting)

EVERYTHING is DANGEROUS! TERRORIST ACTIVITY and ANTISOCIAL DEVICES may be hiding in ANY SUPERMARKET AISLE, in EVERY DESK DRAWER, even in your very own POCKET—but have no fear P(rotest) A(ction) T(esting) is HERE.

In the coming months an absurd bureaucratic performance will be set up to ‘certifiy’ objects provided by the public in order to clarify how they may NOT under any circumstance be used to resist genocide, protest inequality or extinguish a planet on fire. Prepare your household items and stay tuned for further instructions.

PAT is brought to you by Uri Agnon and Rotem Linial, a duo of artists and activists working across theatre, performance, moving image, multimedia, music, oral history, and community-led practice. Between them they bring experience in socially engaged art, activist art, creative campaigning, community art making and public performances.

Uri Agnon is a Jerusalemite composer, writer, theatre maker and activist currently based in London. He creates concert hall pieces, theatre shows, gallery installations, music for protest, and work that trespasses the imaginary borders between art and activism.

Rotem Linial is an artist and educator living and working in London. Linial works across media engaging with individuals and groups to explore emotive and political stakes of non-linear storytelling; the poetics and psychology of perception; and the affective power of collective viewing. She is the founder and director of Cinema Balash—an experimental artist-run screening programme.
