Award 18: It's Time To Take Racism Seriously

Everyday Racism joined forces with artist Jodi Huntt to create a billboard as part of the #takeracismseriously campaign.

This project was sending a message to Keir Starmer and the Labour government during the review into the school curriculum that we need to make big changes in the education system around racism.

This is about safeguarding. Ensuring students impacted by racism are given the right support and all students are educated by competent practitioners.

The Everyday Racism team said: “We applied to Artcry because we were inspired by its mission to support creative projects that spark change and make an impact. The funding we received allowed us to bring our anti-racism campaign to life in a bold and visible way, using a billboard to amplify our message. The support from Artcry not only made this project possible but also helped us attain media coverage in The Guardian, The Voice, and BBC Radio Kent, broadening our reach and impact.
